Overland Airways has been named the Official Airline Carrier for the 2026 Itsekiri Global Homecoming, scheduled for August 16 to 22, with activities also marking the fifth anniversary of the coronation of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwase III.
The event is expected to bring together Itsekiri sons and daughters, as well as friends of the kingdom from across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Chief Executive Officer of Overland Airways, Captain Edward Boyo, described the partnership as a proud moment, saying the airline joins millions of Itsekiri people in celebrating the monarch’s milestone and praying for “health, peace and prosperity during his reign.”
He added that the Homecoming reflects Overland Airways’ commitment to strengthening air connectivity while promoting economic, cultural and trade relations in the communities it serves.
Captain Boyo also noted that the airline, which resumed scheduled flights to Osubi Airport in 2025 with its Embraer E175 jets, is offering discounted fares from Lagos to Osubi for participants.
He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to providing “reliable air services” and connecting people, cultures and communities through safe and affordable air travel.
